We are looking for:
- The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for the preparation of federal income, state income and franchise tax compliance for the Solvay North America legal entities which includes assisting in the defense of all federal and state income tax audits and assisting in the preparation of all tax accounting activities for each legal entity. The Senior Tax Accountant will also assist with the analysis of the tax impact of major corporate decisions, including restructuring through acquisition and divestiture and will work with both the internal finance department representatives and external auditors and consultants.

In this role your goals and KPIs will be focused around:
- Ensures federal and state/city tax returns are filed in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with jurisdictional tax filing requirements in order to keep the Company in good standing
- Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and shift priorities, while ensuring deadlines are met
- Ability to identify, understand and communicate issues, including developing process solutions
- Ability to prepare all compliance and provision related tasks for assigned legal entities
You will bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Advanced degree in Tax and/or CPA preferred.
- At least three (3) years of tax experience in a Corporate Tax Department with federal and state compliance and provision in either public accounting or private industry, manufacturing preferred.
- Working knowledge of both federal and state corporate tax laws and regulations for tax compliance and planning purposes
- Knowledge and skills related to the following disciplines: accounting, auditing, finance and tax law
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel
- Experience with Corptax tax provision and compliance preparation software a plus
- Experience with SAP software used for financial consolidations a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple on-going projects

- The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $90,821 to $113,526 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.

Daily responsibilities include:
• Prepare corporate federal and state tax returns, estimates, and extensions
• Prepare quarterly tax provision work papers
• Prepare tax journal entries as needed
• Support income tax and other tax audits
• Assist with the preparation of tax cash out forecasts
• Assist with analyzing the impact of new or proposed tax legislation to provide awareness of tax planning opportunities or the existence of tax exposures
• Stay current with changes in income tax legislation by participating in continuing education and evaluate the impact to the company and implement any necessary changes for compliance.
