We are currently recruiting for the position of:
SUPERVISOR, DRIVER- Lathrop, CA
The Traffic Supervisor supervises daily Traffic/Backhaul activities. The Supervisor schedules and assigns all fleet Backhauls. This position contracts outside carriers to pick up freight outside of our fleet operating area. The Traffic Supervisor interacts with buyers, vendors, and carriers to ensure timely delivery of product to the warehouse and assuring the traffic program achieves the lowest cost of goods possible.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
• Build, load and contract with carriers to pick up and deliver product from vendors to warehouse
• Assign fleet trucks to pick up and deliver product from vendors to warehouse
• Negotiate with carriers to ensure favorable rates
• Maintain communication with carriers throughout the process to avert delays and communicate with buyers if delays do occur
• Maintain Traffic Log that includes all load information including carrier expense and freight revenue
• Ensure the efficiency and cost of goods reduction of the traffic program
• Enforce safety rules and regulations
• Interact with buyers to ensure product is picked up and received in a timely manner
• Interact with vendors to facilitate efficient pick up of product
• Review and authorizes all freight payments
• Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation, operations, or production goals
• Confer with customers, supervisors, contractors, and other personnel to exchange information and to resolve problems
• Direct workers in transportation or related services, such as pumping, moving, storing, and loading or unloading of materials or people
• Resolve worker problems or collaborates with employees to assist in problem resolution
• Review orders, production schedules, blueprints, and shipping or receiving notices to determine work sequences and material shipping dates, types, volumes, and destinations
• Monitor field work to ensure that it is being performed properly and that materials are being used appropriately
• Recommend and implement measures to improve worker motivation, equipment performance, work methods, and customer services
• Maintain or verify records of time, materials, expenditures, and crew activities
• Interpret transportation and tariff regulations, shipping orders, safety regulations, and company policies and procedures for workers

Hiring pay range: $23.08 – 33.20
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) :
• Good organization/planning, multi-tasking skills
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong Supervisory skills – managing conflict, performance management, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, motivating employees
• Basic Word and Intermediate Excel skills
• Ability to learn applicable transportation management software
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations
Education: Two-year college degree (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience)
Experience : Two years of related experience

Physical : Warehouse and office environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull and lift objects
