Training & Development Specialist – Manufacturing

Primary Purpose of Position:

Leads development and/or standardization of Modern and effective training curriculum, courses and content across plants and regional offices.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads gathering and documenting of business learning requirements by partnering with subject matter experts across the division to clearly define effective learning objectives, course content, delivery methods and assessments.
  • Leads design of effective learning experiences that utilize the latest Instructional Systems Design techniques to offer captivating, engaging, effective and innovative learning solutions that include e-learning, user guides, job aids, digital media, mixed reality, simulations, gaming, social learning and other formats as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with internal and external developers to create interactive learning programs based on sound instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Establishes learning development standards to ensure consistency across all training within the organization.
  • Develops and execute an assessment process to measure the impact and effectiveness of training, then make improvements to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensures training content is current, relevant, accurate, and consistently aligned with organizational goals.
  • Stay current in industry standard learning technology, learning trends, and innovations in training and instructional methodologies. Maintain education and professional expertise through attendance at job-related seminars, conferences, and workshops.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert regarding eLearning leading practices and advocate for the ongoing improvement of the learning experience.
  • Leverages existing and/or off-the-shelf learning content that may be modified to support learning needs.
  • Ensures global applicability of the courses and their readiness for multi-lingual translation. Coordinate translations of online courses and ensure translation accuracy and localization through assistance of native speaker reviewers.
  • Assists with preparation and logistics for onsite and virtual training events.

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Training, Instructional Design, a related field, or equivalent work-related experience required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience delivering online learning solutions. Familiarity with instructional design models and principles required.
  • Manufacturing industry background preferred
  • Experience with graphic design or visual language strongly preferred.
  • Experience with course authoring and multi-media tools preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, visual, and oral), critical and creative thinking, strong project management skills, and knowledge of leading-edge learning technology required.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively communicate with various departments and positions throughout the company.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly adapt to new technologies.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, team environment required.
  • Familiarity with CXD (customer experience design) principles and practice or related industry experience highly desirable.
  • 35% travel

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hiring Salary Range: $62,700 – $102,000 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
  • This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
