NATURE OF WORK:
Performs paraprofessional and technical office work involving moderately complex purchasing and administrative tasks according to established procedures, division/departmental guidelines, internal controls and regulatory requirements applicable to the work. Employees in this classification perform basic routine administrative support work relating to the procurement functions. Work includes renewal of term contracts, bond and insurance certificate management, bench marking research, assisting with the solicitation process, serving as Division expert in Microsoft Office and fillable documents, and a go-to-person for procurement systems (OpenGov, Contract Management System, Teams, Zoom and Workday). The incumbent must be very organized as work is performed in a multi-tasking environment and the ability to help with technical assistance is required. Work is performed under general supervision of the Procurement Supervisor and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through review of data/reports, direct observation, and discussions to ensure compliance with prescribed standards, practices and applicable policies, procedures, and ordinances.
Minimum Requirements
Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field required, plus two (2) years of technical experience in support of buying and contract administration required, preferably in a government environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
