Job Summary
Manage all resources required to scope, plan, design, build, test, and deploy technology products across PSE&G. Responsible for establishing and fostering collaborative partnerships with key technology providers, including influencing their product roadmaps, executive governance meetings and also establish relationships with industry peers and collaborate on sharing technology best practices and advocating for relevant technology related industry and regulatory improvements.
Provides PSE&G with the technology products that support business outcomes related to enabling the Energy Cloud Smart Operations roadmap and maintain solutions like Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) inclusive of Outage Management System (OMS) and Distribution Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (D-SCADA), Distribution Management System (DMS), Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS). Other platforms include Geographic Information System (GIS), Work Management, Mobile Workforce Management, Mobile Inspection platforms, Asset Health Platform (AHP) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The Director works closely with internal customers to establish the vision, leadership, execution capability to assure the timely, innovative and cost-effective deployment of technology products in order to achieve the desired business goals.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic oversight of Smart Operations solutions as captured in the PSE&G Energy Cloud roadmap that enable material business improvements in operational and efficiency metrics. Ensure that Smart Operations solutions integrate with the rest of PSE&G Energy Cloud components and realize the planned benefits.
Manage and oversee both large and small projects for area of accountability. The size and quantity of projects vary by year and business needs.
Develop a strategic product direction, long-term technology investment strategy, and business applications/technology architecture aligned with business objectives
Establish and maintain strong credibility and rapport and relationships with key Utility stakeholders at all levels. Lead the introduction and adoption of transformative technologies in PSE&G aligned with business needs following enterprise technology standards and methodologies that deliver material business value and contribute to attainment of scorecard goals.
Manage and oversee a staff of experienced utility technology professionals, including career development, coaching, and performance and compensation management in a way that fosters excellence. Develop and manage capital and O&M budgets for area of accountability and ensure annual adherence.
Maintain excellent value realization and product related metrics to ensure technology products are optimizing business value.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 15-20 years of experience in the technology field, with solid experience in a senior management role leading a staff of at least thirty senior technologists
- At least 5 years of experience in management of major development projects as an employee of a large corporation
- Significant experience and knowledge in modern IT methodologies such asAgile and DevOps
- Short- and long-term strategic planning expertise that produced innovative technology products for implementation across multiple disciplines
- Prior experience in technical and business change management
- Strong leadership and managerial skills: the ability to energize and administer multidiscipline, high-performance work teams to learn and apply new skills/techniques to achieve business results
- Creative, strategic thinker/problem solver; ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment using leading-edge technology and achieving measurable positive business outcomes
- Excellent oral and written communications skills; demonstrated ability to present and discuss complex technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding and approval
- Strong relationship management skills, along with the ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse teams at all levels on a variety of cross-functional projects
- Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs, developing and delivering projects using leading-edge technology
