JOB DESCRIPTION:
Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Assistant Technical Designer to join the Technical Design RTW team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare for fittings by measuring and inspecting fit samples.
- Assist Tech team in the fitting and take detail photo and notes.
- Coordinate fit meetings with modeling agencies and all teams at the direction of the manager.
- Assist in creating fit comments and tech packs.
- Create label/hangtag and print placement for each style.
- Perform clerical duties such as organize fit sample/paper patterns by season, detail fit photos by categories and seasons.
- Organize fit boards in Miro, maintain and update all fit sample status.
- Assist sample room manager during fashion show.
- Prepare shipping documents and shipping packages to vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of apparel and construction design
- General knowledge of pattern making and grading
- General knowledge of apparel production process
- Skill with problem solving and clearly outlining solutions
- Skill in working with computer software programs: Microsoft Outlook, excellent in Illustrator, Excel, and Power Point
- Ability to organize time effectively to multitask and meet various, strict deadlines
- Experience of working with sample room, patternmakers and sewers is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

SALARY & BENEFITS:
The compensation for this position ranges from $50,000 – 55,000 (annually). The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidate’s relevant skills and experience. In addition, there is a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks, and a retirement plan with employer contribution.
