Director of Creative Content

The Director of Creative Content reports to the Associate Athletic Director of Communication. This position leads the department’s creative content efforts in the areas of strategic communications, revenue generation, fan engagement, marketing and branding initiatives, and perspective student-athlete recruitment.

Coordinates and organizes all department creative needs, producing high-quality content by assigned deadlines.
Designs and produces Central Michigan Athletics creative elements including but not limited to: graphics, social media content, billboards, posters, game programs, brochures, in-game slides, digital marketing, motion graphics, and facility branding.
Coordinates with the other creative services staff members to fulfil all graphics needs of the department including the overall brand, look and feel of all sport teams.
Contributes to the production of materials for the recruitment of potential student-athletes.
Assists with digital initiatives including content production and design of the official website, social media initiatives, video production and videoboard productions including animations/motion graphics.
Manages the day-to-day creative content for all official department social media accounts including all program accounts.
Assists in the day-to-day promotion and branding of CMU Athletics by working with other external units to develop and implement a consistent and effective creative production strategy.
Oversees department photographers including freelancers and student staff.
Manages department graphic design student staff.
Represents the university and Department of Athletics in a professional manner.
Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in graphic design, broadcasting, journalism, marketing, communications, or related field.
Proficient experience utilizing the full Adobe Creative Suite; specifically Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe After Effects.
Experience with social media platforms.
Experience in graphic design.
Experience in animation/motion graphic design.
Knowledge of current social and digital media trends and specifications.
Ability to interpret and utilize brand standards.
Excellent editing skills.
Excellent interpersonal verbal communication skills.
Highly organized and driven.
Self-motivated.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
