Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer candidate which directly supports the Specialized Warfighter Defense Center (SWDC) program, located at Schriever Space Force Base, in Colorado Springs, part of the United States Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The MDA conducts global missions for, missile defense, and high-altitude capabilities, to enable multi-domain combat effects; enhance deterrence, assurance, and detection of strategic attacks; and protect the nation.
Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT): This position requires expertise in the science and instrumentation of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), algorithms for assured PNT, and the development of technologies for GPS limited/denied environments. The candidate will develop high precision, low Size Weight and Power – Cooling (SWaP-C) solutions for resilient operations in relevant DoD environments.
Radiofrequency (RF) Engineering: This position requires expertise in RF communications, spectrum operations, and electronic warfare (EW) to address DoD challenges in SWaP-C, bandwidth, loss/efficiency, integration, and/or stealth. The candidate will develop solutions associated with power amplification, filter design, integrated circuit design, apertures, and configurable RF.
Space Domain Awareness: This position requires specialization in areas including astrodynamics, sensor tasking, state estimation, guidance/navigation/control (GNC), and space weather. The candidate will address key challenges in information fusion, perception, and activity interference with emphasis on space operations and anomaly identification and characterization.
- All work performed is 100% on-site, at Government customer facility, within a SCIF, at Schriever SFB
- No telework or remote work is authorized or associated with this position
**This role does require some travel up to 25%. When not traveling, the work will be performed during normal 1st shift hours and will be on-call for an entire week approximately every 5-6 weeks**
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree plus (5) five to (7) seven years of relevant experience, M.S. Degree and three to five (3-5) years of relevant experience, PhD and zero to two (0-2) years of relevant experience, or a H.S. Diploma and eight to ten (8-10) years of relevant experience (in lieu of a degree).
- A current Secret security clearance
- Experience deploying systems into an operational network with Configuration Management requirements and measures
- Must have a minimum of Security + in order to meet DoDD 8570.01M requirements
- Excellent written skills using Microsoft products
- Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed
- Work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- At least 4 years demonstrated experience independently authoring software or wiriting software code in 2 or more of the following languages:
- C, C++, C#, HTML, RUBY, RUST, PHP, Python, Java, JavaScript, or SQL
- Must demonstrate at least 6 years delivering software solutions for applications
- Must demonstrate ability to work with a team to deliver flexible solutions for a DoD or similar size/scope customer
- Must demonstrate the ability to work alone, or as part of a team, and deliver on time, ahead of schedule, meeting customer delivery costs or SW functionality and objectives
- Experience with Agile Operations is beneficial
- Leadership – the ability to take direction, support decision-makers, or support internal/external teams, while maintaining accountability of one’s actions is essential for this position

- Assured PNT (A-PNT)
- Mounted Assured PNT System (MAPS)
- Dismounted Assured PNT System (DAPS)
- Military Encrypted GPS Signal (M-Code) and P (Y) Code (L1/L2 Bands)
- GPS Psuedo Random Noise (PRN) Code
- Military GPS receivers – Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR)
- Electronic Warfare / Cyber / Radio Frequency in Military Operations
- Ground-Based GPS Receiver Application Module (GB-GRAM)
- Selective Availability Anti-spoofing Module (SAASM)
- Inter-range instrumentation group timecodes, known as IRIG timecode

Target Salary Range
$66,000 – $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
