What is the Job?
- Complies with all safety rules, policies and procedures.
- Supervises shipping and loading department employees, monitors work and ensures the safe use of equipment.
- Oversees daily safety and equipment checklists and coordinates the maintenance of equipment and fleet with Mechanic and contractors.
- Maintain proper inventory of equipment and PPE for the department.
- Coordinates with various internal and external departments to access needs for product receiving, shipment and transfers.
- Checks orders, bills, items received, inventory and deliveries for accuracy.
- Coordinates railcars with Union Pacific Railroad and QR Sales Team.
- Uses SAP to input and change orders, distribute product orders to truck drivers and Forklift Operators, and reconcile inventory.
- Schedules Services as needed.
- Experience loading and offloading trucks and railcars, with knowledge in plotting and cubing product.
- Loads product, if necessary.
- Monitors product orders being loaded to determine if the truck / rail load is overweight.
- Design warehouse layout to optimize utilization and schedule loading and unloading of bay.
- Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock ensuring a variety of product and allocating run times in accordance with space in the warehouse.
- Assures accuracy and approves employees’ timecards and schedules.
- Responsible for the performance, training, development and discipline of employees within the department.
- Maintains Forklift Training and Certification for facility.
- Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned.
Qualifications:
- Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to set goals, motivate and manage conflict.
- 2+ years Supervisory experience, preferred
- Good project management skills, including strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities.
- In-depth understanding of industry and company best practices for the warehouse.
- Strong computer skills for use in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word) and date entry software (SAP experience preferred).
- Math skills required, i.e. ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Ability to operate forklift.

Here at our Newark location, we make Gypsum Wallboard. Your job as a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is to supervise the Warehouse personnel and assist in managing product inventory.

Wage offered depends on experience: $36/hour – $43/hour
