JOB SUMMARY

It is the primary responsibility of the Barista to courteously greet all guests and perform cashier transactions accurately and according to the Company policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Entering all food orders in system
  • Settle all customer checks in the system accurately
  • Properly complete all cash or credit transactions as necessary
  • Ensure an excellent customer service atmosphere for all guests
  • Thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, prices and the ability to describe all specials, beverage and food items on the menu.
  • Assist other staff as necessary to insure pleasant guest experience
  • Provide all guests with a copy of their receipt
  • Perform necessary side work and maintain a clean and orderly work space
  • Complete pick up orders by using the proper procedure
  • Follow departmental rules to ensure safety, cleanliness, sanitation and customer satisfaction
  • Always thank guests for their patronage and invite them back
  • Maintain proper uniform attire which includes proper name tags, ID
  • Perform assembly and service of food and drink items
  • Properly brew and mix coffee drinks
  • Handle all food items according to sanitation guidelines
  • Package “TO-GO” items with all necessary service ware and condiments
  • Perform any additional duty which the management deems necessary to insure smooth operation and maximize good customer experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using basic cleaning supplies (broom, dust pan, spray bottle & towel).
  • Ability to smile, make eye contact and communicate easily with the public
  • Clearly communicate verbally and by telephone and/or beeper
  • Regular and dependable attendance
  • Positive attitude and ability to be courteous during demanding times
  • Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co workers
  • The ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to Hotel standards
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work is performed in an area which may be unusually noisy and crowded.
  • Mobility to include bending, reaching, prolonged standing and walking, accessing and lifting items from floor level to six feet high
  • Normal sense of smell, touch, sound and vision range
  • Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity as well as the ability to distinguish letters, symbols and currency
  • Repetitive lifting of up to 15 lbs.
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, bending and walking.
  • Work area is subject to variable temperatures.
  • May be subject to smoking environment and moderate noise.
