Technician
Summary:
Our Client is looking for a Senior/Lead Technician with 2-3 years’ experience working on Heavy Equipment.
Position Overview:
As a Senior/Lead Technician specializing in heavy equipment with at least 2 years of experience, your primary responsibility is to oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy machinery and equipment in a construction or similar industry. Your advanced knowledge and expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical issues will be essential in ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of the equipment. Additionally, you will provide guidance and supervision to a team of technicians, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, and other machinery.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential issues.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.
- Order necessary parts and supplies and manage inventory to ensure availability.
- Stay updated on equipment manufacturer guidelines and technical specifications.
Technical Expertise and Problem Solving:
- Utilize advanced knowledge and experience to diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Perform repairs and adjustments, including engine overhauls, hydraulic system repairs, and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools to aid in problem-solving.
- Stay informed about industry advancements and emerging technologies related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Develop and implement safety training programs for technicians and equipment operators.
- Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or near misses promptly.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and inventory usage.
- Generate reports on equipment status, repair costs, and maintenance history.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and finance, to provide necessary information for budgeting and forecasting.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree or certification is a plus).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a heavy equipment technician, preferably in a construction or similar industry.
- In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
