Leader to join the team to further develop our offering to our existing and new clients. We welcome applicants to join one of the following offices: Iselin, NJ; Westwood, MA; Austin, TX; Houston, TX; Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO;
or Raleigh, NC.
Able to provide:
- Developing strong and robust client relationships with a strong focus on one or more gigawatt class Clients
- Working effectively with the Resource Manager and the Sector/Practice Leaders to assign the proper resources and to deliver the project to the Client’s satisfaction while also meeting Mott MacDonald’s profit or contribution targets.
- Managing risk and commercial performance on the projects for their Accounts with the assistance of the Project Controls team.
- Engineering/technical guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems
- Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, monitoring and managing work activities of an engineering team
- Thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches
- Continuous improvement of job-related engineering technical and professional knowledge skills and performance
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Support of company’s goals and represents the company positively and professionally
- Active participant in regional weekly resource meeting (may also participate in national resource meeting as applicable)
- Promotes inter-office collaboration/communication in sharing of knowledge, resources and work to help level utilization
- Mentors team of engineers
- Manage Substation Physical Team
Candidate Specification
You are a team player who is comfortable liaising with stakeholders internally and externally with an exceptional ability to communicate orally and through written correspondence. You have a strong work ethic and take pride and accountability in your duties and accomplishments as an individual. You have expansive experience in consulting environments and understand the importance of keeping all parties involved in a project updated and in the loop at all times.
You are a multitasker who can work on multiple projects at once. You enjoy fast-paced, dynamic projects and teams, and have the following qualifications.
- Professional Engineering Designation
- Experience leading a team to perform detailed design of HV substations
- Work closely with Civil, Structural, and Relay teams assuring an integrated design
- Lead Substation Physical Engineer to lead a Physical Team, 8-15 years’ experience
- Mid-level/Senior Substation Physical Engineer 3-8 years’ experience
- Ability to use CDEGS and/or WinIGS (Grounding studies per IEEE80)
- Ability to use CYMCAP
- Ability to design lightning protection per IEEE
- Knowledge and experience completing insulation coordination per IEEE
- Knowledge of completing rigid bus calculations per IEEE
- High proficiency in AutoCAD
Salary Range: $110K – $165K
