Overview

In this role you will work on establishing physical and network security policies and procedures, regulating access to information, physical access to company property, and training staff on proper use of information systems. The Cybersecurity Associate will monitor systems for security gaps, both physical and system related, design effective solutions and provide reports to management and executive staff.

The role will contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification, and awareness activities. This individual will be involved in evaluating vendor risk, examining vendor contracts or terms of service, helping different teams around the organization understand third-party risk and data privacy issues, and physical security. This role will demonstrate a proven ability to understand Business and IS strategy and technical requirements and provide a role of Advisor to the Business Owners to ensure appropriate levels of Risk, and consistent application of Controls across the Enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts ongoing monitoring activities. Review alerts and logs maintaining the organization’s digital security footprint. Analyze threat alerts and unusual patterns and respond to them on a timely manner. Continually analyze reports generated by the monitoring systems to identify trends that might indicate a future risk.
  • Review internal and external policy adherence. Assist and recommend policies, standards, procedures, and controls to assure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information technology environment for on premises as well as cloud hosted IT applications and infrastructure.
  • Work with different departments in the organization to reduce risk. Asist in business-engaged risk exercises to identify and measure risk and develop mitigation strategies. Working across departments to establish technical controls to policies. Work in conjunction with Security Department management to develop and implement standards, policies, procedures, and training programs for all security systems.
  • Respond to security incidents. Respond to security events and incidents reported by the users and follow best practices to prevent security breaches.
  • Track business-relevant metrics and key performance indicators to measure cyber security program maturity and adherence to the organization policies and procedures.
  • Conduct internal and external security assessments, review security controls, collect artifacts, and follow-up on implementation of corrective actions.
  • Participate in security audits conducted by third parties. Collect necessary artifacts, interpret results, communicate reports to the management and implement corrective actions.
  • Support information security aspects in business-driven technology projects.
  • Keep abreast of cyber security trends, with an ability to articulate security related themes and principles into business terms.
  • Serve as a resource, advocate, and catalyst for sustainability at The Durst Organization. Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the security field is required
  • Proven Experience with information security risk management and process improvement
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must have a strong background in information technology with a clear understanding of the challenges of information and cyber security.
  • Must possess analytical ability, use a high degree of judgment to determine proper process to follow under all types of circumstances including project related deadlines and troubleshooting
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential along with solid computer proficiency including MS Office, Visio, SQL Server, and HTML
  • Excellent time management skills: ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on time and on budget

Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000
