This is a position with significant responsibilities and duties that include direct interaction with at risk youth and their families.
Duties include coordination of efforts between staff in the office as well as outside agencies as requested, involves responsibility for telephone triage with at risk families, coordinating intake schedules, electronic treatment and contact reporting, evaluation reporting, and coordinates program supplies.

Instructions in the nature of policy directives and daily tasks are received from Case Managers, but considerable independent judgment must be exercised in initiating and carrying out assignments.
Minimum qualifications & Requirements
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree in human service field such as psychology, social work, counseling and guidance, or related field
- Responsible experience in the field including direct service experience and the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
- Considerable knowledge of the operation of prevention, diversion and intervention services.
- Considerable knowledge of a variety of social service/psychological activities.
- Ability to administer rules and regulations in such a manner as to promote understanding, fairness, and equity between users.
- Considerable knowledge of a variety of computer software; such as Word, Excel, Access and publishing programs.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to deal tactfully and with understanding with youth, their families, and any other persons involved in the program.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with recreational staff members, civic groups, other departments/agencies and employees, and Family Resource Center staff.
Supplemental information
- Become familiar with all Family Resource Center programs in order to adequately describe various programs to callers. This position is the first contact for callers seeking services or responding to written notifications of referrals.
- Receive and process all referrals for services. Schedule and confirm client appointments. Prepare and send various client contact letters.
- Maintain database with new client data and updates as needed and review database for accuracy on a monthly basis. Prepare monthly performance/evaluation reports.
- Maintain client files per specified format.
- Maintain Confidentiality of program clients.
- Monitor and track operating supplies. Place orders as directed, in accordance with City purchasing procedures.
- Managing an overflow caseload of no more than 10 youth as needed.
- Sub/Assist in various group programs as needed
- Documentation in the JAIS system of each client contact.
- Minimum of 8 hours of training annually to meet county requirements.
- Supervise Interns.
- Provide friendly and high-quality service to community members.
- Performs other related work as assigned
