We are looking for a Communications Systems Engineer to provide design support on major transit projects. The ideal candidate has an analytical mindset, a background in rail transit and communications systems, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Work within a team to provide communications systems engineering for rail transit projects involving:
- Radio systems
- Display systems
- Public address systems
- Voice over IP telephone networks
- Fire telephone systems
- Emergency telephone systems
- Fiber optic networks including WDM
- CCTV
- Intrusion detection systems.
- Prepare plans and specifications
- Prepare design calculations
- Prepare design reports
-Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of related experience
- Knowledge of the principles of communications systems
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is desired
- Familiarity with rail transit industry standards, practices, and regulations
- Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineering registration (preferred)
- Experience in design or construction of rail transit systems (preferred)
- A skilled oral and written communicator
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Able to work in a cooperative team environment
- Motivated to learn and grow within a cooperative environment
