The Manager II, Business Analysis & Insights, role will be a key contributor to growing our US Marketplace Business while developing & tracking key strategic initiatives.

  • You are biased for action, relentless about driving and owning the goal and you are motivated by the responsibility of delivering the most crucial capabilities for long term marketplace growth
  • You’re organized, disciplined, and can manage multiple projects and cross-functional partners simultaneously
  • You have experience in the Marketplace Channel/ Marketplace model
  • You’re stimulated by challenges and are ready to engage at Fortune 1 scale
  • Brownie points if you are familiar with & adept at using data insights tools like Tableau, SQL, Looker, Excel, etc.

You will make an impact by:

  • Maintaining Business Partnerships – Works with leadership and business partners to discuss and understand goals/functional objectives and key business challenges to develop hypotheses around current and future business issues; identifies functional analytics and research objectives and develops tactical research plans.
  • Developing strategic programs – Gain a deep understanding of the problem and pain points, identify the right solutions that are executable. Build the overarching program leveraging the solutions and the plan to bring those to the sellers and customers. Ensure that the program fits with the overarching Walmart marketplace strategy and organization. Clearly articulate and position the strategy and goals of each program to generate buy in and ensure the capabilities are built accordingly.
  • Supporting operational decisions for the Performance and Risk Operations team – by conducting forecasting reports; analyzing business data (for example, contact trends, resolution quality results, escalation trends); communicating trends and performance gaps to operational partners; identifying and recommending solutions; collaborating with operational and training partners to incorporate analysis results into business plans (for example, knowledgebase updates or strategy changes); conducting impact analysis in order to evaluate business plans; and communicating data based business plan recommendations to senior leaders
  • Taking leadership over analytical workstreams – Owns workstreams and individual projects end-to-end for a business area, category or prototype. Manages risk associated with implementation of recommendations. Model Development: Develops data models (algorithms, approaches) for workstreams and individual projects within a business area or category to drive business results and value. Collaborates with team to implement modeling solutions.
  • Provides guidance to broader team and stakeholders, and advises on next steps based on insights objectives and research. Presents actionable recommendations to leadership to inform strategic and tactical functional initiatives. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Owns Critical Data Collection and Analysis – Addresses complex business problems by applying advanced analytics to drive data-driven decision making. Makes strategic recommendations to team based on data analysis. Manages and executes data analysis strategy, providing guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy; and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or related field and 1 years’ experience in data analytics, statistics, or related field OR 3 years’ experience in data analytics, statistics, or related field
  • 3 years’ experience using in-database analytics, SQL, or similar programming languages to retrieve, merge, and clean data from multiple sources or platforms
  • High proficiency with Excel, SQL, R, Python, JIRA, etc.
  • Experience with one or more data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker etc.
  • Data storytelling with PowerPoint
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and prior experience working with Product and Technology teams; proven ability to influence internal / external partners and provide clear actionable insights
  • Experience driving projects toward clear business goals, testable hypotheses, and action-oriented outcomes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s in Business, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science or similar field
  • At least 2 years of industry experience preferably in Analytics, Data Science with Strategy Consulting (top 5 firm), Private Equity, Technology Company, or a similar space

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$139,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

– Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

– Stock equity incentives
