Summary of Position
Red Rocks Community College seeks applications for a limited faculty position to join our Mathematics Department. This is a one year, 164-day limited appointment (82 days in the Fall 2023 Semester and 82 days in the Spring 2024 Semester) beginning August 2023 and ending May 2024.

Department Information & Mission: The mission of the RRCC math department is to provide an affordable and rigorous mathematical foundation to all students in STEM transfer programs as well as any associate degrees at RRCC. We do this by teaching students to think critically and quantitatively in everyday life, by training students to communicate and apply mathematical concepts effectively, and by maintaining high expectations in each course.
Position Summary: Perform instruction-related duties, responsibilities, and program direction in the Criminal Justice department at the College in accordance with the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the Colorado Community College System and Red Rocks Community College.
Salary Note: The posted salary range represents our FY23 Faculty salary ranges. Increases are planned for FY24 and will be in effect for August 2023 start date.

Description of Position
Instruction:
Teach day, evening, or weekend courses and/or teach in any modality including in-person classroom-based courses, hybrid, remote, hyflex, concurrent, or online, ensuring that all courses meet the approved course outcomes and outlines. Instruction duties and responsibilities center on teaching excellence, which can include:
- Learning and applying culturally responsive education and inclusive learning environments into classroom instruction and curriculum
- Demonstrating equity and inclusion skills that are measurable, student-focused, and support equity in achieving learning outcomes
- Active student engagement that empowers learners to think critically and achieve academic, professional, and personal goals
- Robust instructional content that is thought-provoking, current and relevant
- Meaningful assessment and timely feedback related to student progress in achieving learning outcomes
- Continuous improvement of teaching and learning through evidence-based practices, reflection, innovation, and collaboration; and other College priorities
Service:
Service includes fulfilling the mission and goals of the College outside of the classroom. These may include but are not limited to:
- Departmental service, including curriculum coordination and development
- Advising and outreach
- Administrative assignments and committee work at a campus- level, college, or System-wide
- Sponsoring and participating in student activities or community service events related to the College and tied to personal professional goals and job responsibilities
Professional development activities are a part of service. Activities include:
- Continuous improvement in teaching
- Best practices in higher education as related to college initiatives

- Personal enrichment in higher education structure or leadership
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: A master’s degree (or higher) with 18 graduate hours in Math from an academic institution accredited by an agency that is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Fifteen (15) semester credit hours teaching experience at the college level.
Preferred Qualifications: Membership in or experience working in diverse communities and supporting the success of individuals from racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds that are underrepresented.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Demonstrated ability to teach students using traditional and alternative methods of instruction. Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into the classroom where appropriate. Commitment to effective teaching and a learner-centered philosophy. Ability to work from campus (primarily our Lakewood campus location).

Starting Salary: Starting salary is determined by education and experience in accordance with our compensation plan.
