Lead (Mobile) Product Designer

We’re a VC backed ($4 million USD) seed stage company in the Customer Experience and Loyalty Platform space (B2B2C). We’re building a native mobile app where companies can to reach out to and engage with their best customers. Each community platform can be tailored with polling feature, stories and personalized feeds.

We’re in the beta stage and have live trials setup with 10 customers. Founded in 2022 we’re launching in 2023. We’re also working on big features like ecommerce, POS and integrating with platforms like Shopify. We’re motivated by the opportunity to rethink the consumer online shopping experience. We’re just under 10 full time staff and based out of New York City, NY.

We really value design. The founders are experienced and mostly come from Instagram and Facebook. What You’ll Do

As our Lead Product Designer, you’ll be working directly with the founding team, engineering and our customers. You’ll be designing a native mobile iOS Swift and Android Kotlin app in parallel. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your experience in taking a mobile app from zero to one.

Responsibilities

– Design our core product – from major product features, to the interactions that leave users smiling. You’ll own all consumer and business-facing experiences

– Prototype visual and UX concepts, and drive the process to identify the right design choices for our product

– Ship aesthetically pleasing user interfaces, mockups and animations that delight and add value to our users

– Acts as the UI/UX expert/advisor on native app design (including standards, best practices and accessibility)

– Work closely with product managers, engineers, and various stakeholders, to contribute to the product roadmap and lead the team in solving user problems from ideation to execution

– Inspire the team by bringing new ideas to the table, leading design sprints and advocating for our users

What You Bring

– 5+ years of progressive responsibility in product design or user experience design roles with heavy experience in native iOS apps (experience working in eCommerce is a plus)

– At least 2+ years designing for consumer-facing digital products

– At least 2+ years designing for native mobile apps

– BA/BS degree in human-centered interaction, UX/UI design, or related field of study; OR equivalent professional work experience.

– An excellent understanding of iOS and Android patterns and conventions.

– Ability to balance great design solutions with an iterative approach (v1, v2, or v3 )

– Experience designing and prototyping complex workflows with Figma or similar products

– Well versed in facilitation techniques that enable groups to build clarity and alignment

– You elevate design through your approach – from actively seeking feedback, communicating designs, and setting the standard for execution

– Expert understanding (including capabilities, patterns and limitations) of current native technologies (iOS & Android)

– Someone with an entrepreneurial spirit (low ego, highly intelligent, and a quick learner) and can work in an ambiguous environment

– You’re an expert in the fundamentals: visual design, interaction design, and information architecture.

– A strong portfolio showing your process of working through full end-to-end experiences, design thinking, and using research to drive decisions.

– Nice to have: Some coding skills – HTML, CSS, Interaction level JavaScript
