Your Opportunity

Glumac is seeking a Sr. Project Manager, Mechanical Engineer.

A hybrid work environment is available to staff that can demonstrate good communication, quality, and accountability across their work products and efforts. The office is always available for those that desire an in-office environment full-time.

Your Impact

This role will entail:

  • Plan and design sustainable mechanical systems for buildings and facilities.
  • Lead face-to-face and other technical communication with clients on MEP topics.
  • Acts as “Engineer of Record”. Responsible for overall quality assurance and control of engineering design that meets Code, meets or exceeds Client’s expectations based on Client’s standards, guidelines, schedule, cost budget, and risk management requirements.
  • Lead discipline construction administration activities.
  • Prioritize engineering project team labor to meet multiple moving deadlines and track project budgets.
  • Interface with code officials and contractors.
  • Assist Marketing in development of scope and qualifications for RFPs. Participate in project bid interviews as needed.
  • Embrace sustainable design through a Team approach.
  • Collaborate with other internal and external disciplines to ensure proper building design.
  • Project Management:
    • Serve as the main point of contact with clients and the design team.
    • Serve as the main point of communication with all parties to ensure a successful project.
    • Lead and/or support the preparation of proposals.
    • Interact with clients, customers, regulatory and funding agencies, contractors, and others.
    • Have a solid understanding of the scope of the work to be performed.
    • Have in-depth knowledge of the financial aspect of the project while working directly with Projecting Accountants / Accounting to ensure that a profitable project is achieved.
    • Coordination and management of the Team and any others involved in the project.
    • Ensure the Team has the necessary tools and receives regular and timely information to produce a successful project.
    • Responsible for delivering an end project that satisfies the Client.
    • Work directly with the Program Manager throughout the project to ensure the success of the project.
  • Superior client-facing/client relationship/client management skills, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leads assigned project teams as they perform their tasks and participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
  • Lead marketing and business development efforts of new and existing clientele.
  • Participate in activities and organizations related to our industry outside of daily business routine, developing peer relationships, technical growth, and business contacts.

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • 10+ years of previous experience as a mechanical engineer working with infrastructure and/or building systems within the AEC industry with a consulting engineering or A/E firm, including marketing and business development.
  • Current Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
  • Passionate about innovative systems and designs. Ability to demonstrate passion to internal colleagues and clients.
  • Effective communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience maintaining successful client relationships that directly result in repeat business.
  • Client-facing/client relationship/client management skills.
  • Track record of maintaining key client accounts strongly desired.
  • Ability to mentor and train young engineers, reviewing their work and giving appropriate feedback to ensure quality control.
  • Significant sustainable design experience strongly desired. Must have a solid understanding of HVAC designs and commercial systems with applications in a variety of projects including but not limited to: health care, higher education, data centers, mission-critical, and central utility plant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in project development and execution in the public and private sectors.
  • Proven leadership experience and managerial experience are a must.
  • Knowledge and experience must include using software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and MS Office to perform complex calculations.
  • Proficiency in Building and Mechanical Codes and Standards.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, self-starter.

Preferred:

  • LEED Accreditation is a plus.
  • WELL Certification is a plus.

Salary Range: $130,000 – $160,000

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the proposed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Glumac’s total compensation package for employees.
