Job Description
Mott MacDonald is looking for a Field engineer/inspector to serve as part of the Construction Management Team for underground excavations and tunnels in the NY area.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Follow safety guidelines, participate in pre-task planning, and report any safety issues or concerns to management
- Perform outdoor, all-season field tasks such as inspection of geotechnical borings, Support of Excavation (SOE) installation, excavation activities, and construction of structures
- Develop field and engineering reports and logs
- Work at different shifts with some overtime and weekend work may be required
Candidate Specification
The ideal candidate will have the following required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Engineering Geology, or similar disciplines
- Highly motivated individual
- Ability to perform field tasks and activities
- 1 to 5 years of experience with geotechnical borings and site investigation, SOE installation, underground excavations, and concrete structures
Preferred qualifications include the following:
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering
- EIT and PE certificates
Salary Range: $80,000-95,000
