Hiring Range: $42,707.00 – $49,951.00
Work Days/Hours: Monday – Friday
6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
(some evenings and weekends required)
Responsibilities relate to turf care, athletic field, and/or ballfield maintenance including the operation of athletic field maintenance equipment including tractors, ballfield groomers, artificial turf grooming equipment, and aerators. Special event setups, field layout and lining/painting for athletic events, and custodial experience in a public setting. Incumbents may perform semi-skilled labor requiring technical repairs, operation of commercial mowing and landscaping equipment (Zero Turn Mowers, Reel mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, and other handheld landscaping equipment) and leading the work of others performing similar work.
An incumbent is responsible for leading a crew, to include assigning and inspecting work; performing cleaning services; performing technical work, service checks, and preventative maintenance on electronic equipment and vehicles; administering and scheduling repairs; operating light-duty equipment and power tools; installing and maintaining equipment and related devices; picking up trash; maintaining supplies; taking inventory and stocking equipment; researching information; preparing routine reports; maintaining records and databases; and performing related duties.
Duties/Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSet, TASC).
- Three years of turf maintenance or athletic fields maintenance experience.
- A valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
Additional Preferred Skills
- NC Pesticides License.
- NC CDL, Class “B” Driver’s License.
- Experience working as a lead worker.
- Experience operating Zero Turn riding mowers (commercial mowers).
- Ability/skilled in using a smart phone.
