Task Manager/Scrum Master

As a Task Manager/Scrum Master you will support EPA’s mission to protect the ozone layer and address climate change by leading agile teams developing software systems to reduce the production, import, and use of ozone depleting substances (ODS).
GDIT is looking for a Task Manager/Scrum Master with a strong customer facing background and experience leading an Agile software development team. The Task Manager/Scrum Master serves in a team leadership position working closely with the Product Owners, and members of the agile team to help the agile team meet their sprint and feature delivery commitments. The Task Manager/Scrum Master will also support the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager in task management.
HOW A TASK MANAGER/SCRUM MASTER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Guides the team on a daily basis on implementing Scaled Agile and Scrum methodology
- Helps the team meet their daily and sprint objectives
- Removes impediments so that the team can perform their tasks
- Coordinates solution implementation and delivery per the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Program Increment (PI) Planning Event
- Oversees preparation and readiness for release planning and inspect and adapt ceremonies
- Oversees the teams sprint and release retrospectives and continuous process improvement conversations
- Helps the team normalize estimation efforts for planning work
- Interfaces with EPA project technical leads
- Monitors project and staff activities
- Assists with project activities including cost, schedule, and staffing
- Helps with the coordination of work activities with subcontractors and EPA
- Develops and maintains project-related documents
- Works with Product Owner Proxy to assign Team Leads and assemble sprint teams
- Prepares monthly technical reports that are sent to EPA
- Reviews and monitors weekly charges
- Leads the Scrum of Scrum weekly meetings
- Develop and maintain project plans
- Develop and maintain project documentation (contact info, team processes & procedures, etc.)
- Organize, manage, and administer collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint/Teams)
- Help track and manage status of staff security clearances, badges, and required training
- Coordinate development of weekly and monthly project reports
- Create meeting agendas, record meeting minutes, and document action items
- Facilitate project meetings with client
- Collect, maintain, and report agile team performance/productivity metrics
- Provide people management support for staff analysts & testers
- Organize/plan SAFe PI Planning Events
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- US Citizenship Required
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
- 5+ years’ professional experience
- 2+ years of Scaled Agile methodology experience
- 2+ years of Scrum/Kanban methodology experience
- 2+ years of Jira/Confluence experience
- Scrum Master Certification
- Location: DC/Maryland/Virginia area

SALARY RANGE:
The likely salary range for this position is $92,331.30 – $118,581.10. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
