Hiring range: $23.76 per hour

Plan, provide, and document home visits focused on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting and family well-being in in accordance with the Parents as Teachers curriculum and the activities approved in the program contract such as completing screenings/assessments. Develop, monitor, and review goals with each family as well as link families to community resources. 40%

  • Collect, enter, maintain and report data accurately and on time. 40%
  • Provide monthly group connections that give program participants an opportunity to build social connections with each other, engage in parent-child interaction activities, and increase their knowledge of ways to support children’s development. 5%
  • Participate in at least two hours of individual reflective supervision and at least two hours of staff meetings monthly. 5%
  • Attend mandatory funder, curriculum affiliate, and agency required trainings. 5%

Minimum Education & Experience required:

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with young children and/or parents
  • Bilingual English / Spanish required: Ability to converse, write and translate in English and Spanish required.

Specialized Training:

  • Lactation educator knowledge and/or experience or willingness to be trained preferred. Certified Lactation Educator (CLE) or Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) preferred.
  • Familiarity with trauma informed care and the effects of domestic violence, child abuse, parental alcohol and/or substance abuse, and perinatal depression on child development, parenting, family and general functioning or willingness to be trained preferred.
  • Infant massage educator knowledge and/or experience or willingness to be trained preferred.

Position Requirements:

  • Criminal Records (e.g. Livescan Fingerprinting), Child Abuse Index Check, Sexual Offender Registry, Health and Tuberculosis (TB) test clearances required.
  • Valid California driver’s license, reliable vehicle, automobile insurance, and a clean driving record that will be substantiated by DMV records required.
