Job Description
The Denver Division of the Albertsons Companies has an opening for a Director of Finance in its Centennial, CO Office.
Position Purpose:
The Finance Director will provide professional accounting and financial guidance and analytical support within the division. In addition, will gather, organize, and analyze information in the completion of both routine and special assignments under varying amounts of guidance and direction. Will interface with all levels of Division and Corporate personnel in addressing financial questions, results, variances, overall processes and procedures. In addition, this position acts as the financial partner to the Division Leadership.
Key responsibilities and experience in following includes, but not limited to:
- Manages, directs, and prepares the Annual & Quarterly Operating Plan for the division.
- Coordinate the development and monitor the performance of Division Budgets, which includes taking an active role in the Quarterly Review process.
- Responsible for preparing performance reports, providing assistance and recommending revisions as necessary to Division Budgets.
- Establishes the Weekly, Period and Quarterly forecasts, estimates and projections for accurate reporting of the Division operating results. Develops and maintains reporting tools highlighting the results of key performance measures, both financial and non-financial.
- Prepare and monitor bi-weekly margin review with sales/merchandising team. Includes in-depth review of gross profit metrics to assist with interpreting results and measuring performance.
- Assists with the preparation of quarterly and fiscal closing statements.
- Develops and produces key operating performance reports for Store Operations, including budget comparisons.
- Prepare IRR proformas for remodeling and new stores. Develop and manage analytical tools to improve the profit performance of new and remodel stores and loss stores.
- Identifies profit opportunities for management and recommends corrective action based on trend results and analysis.
- Analyze cost and benefits of various new programs proposed by Division Management.
- Supports Operations with new and closed store requirements as they relate to financial programs.
- Supports Corporate with Division bonus programs.
- Supports Division labor negotiations by providing analysis and support in determining the financial impact of the contract negotiation strategies.
- Supervise, coach, develop, and prioritize workflow for any regional financial staff.
- Provide support on special projects as assigned by Division Executives.
Qualifications: The following are preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years finance and accounting experience.
- Experience in Oracle EPB planning and ledger system a plus.
- Possess advanced analytical skills with the ability to analyze, interpret, and report financial data.
- Ability to solve problems using analytical frameworks to streamline the process.
- Must be a self-starter who can work well within various situations (from well-defined to un-structured) and proactively identify business improvement areas.
- Possess good communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of management.
- Ability to interact at all levels in the organization from Executives to staff.
- Excellent PC and related spreadsheet application skills. In depth knowledge in VBA, HTML and SQL desired
- Ability to handle confidential information in a mature manner required.
- Possess ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results.
- Will work closely with corporate FP&A Department.
Physical Environment
- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
- Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.

The salary for this position ranges from $118,00 to $150,000 annually; starting salary will vary based on circumstances, including experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. Dependent on length of service, benefits include: healthcare, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).”
