Senior Manager, Facilities Operations

Synthego is searching for a highly motivated Senior Manager with experience managing a wide variety of projects and programs in the biotech industry. The Senior Manager will be responsible for maintaining multiple buildings, standardizing maintenance protocols, and supporting the successful growth of the organization. The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and supporting the needs of multiple stakeholders with projects ranging from standard maintenance to full site construction.

What You’ll Do

    • Manage properties with pride ensuring function, cleanliness, and organization
    • Plan, select, propose, and implement equipment and systems upgrades and replacements to ensure efficiency and cost control
    • Evaluates and prioritizes new upcoming facilities projects by creating budgets and timelines to meet company goals
    • Create and maintain vendor relationships to support building needs
    • Manage and prepare department budget for space utilization, standard office furniture, capital and leasehold items, time and material maintenance and equipment maintenance
    • Negotiates new lease agreements with current and potential building ownership/management
    • Coordinate system repairs and monitor system performance
    • Maintain adequate parts inventory and order items as necessary
    • Execute equipment audits and record-taking policies
    • Maintain facilities compliance with local, county, state, and federal regulations
    • Clearly communicate project timelines and hold teams accountable for on-time, on-budget delivery
    • Provides overall directions and sets priorities for the site improvement projects and activities
    • Oversees the management of preventative maintenance programs to include the ongoing maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment
    • Will be responsible for the effective 24/7 uninterrupted support of facilities operational activities and security

About You

    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Science, Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical is preferred.
    • 7 to 10 years of experience in operations and/or laboratory/facilities management in Biotech and Pharmaceutical industry
    • 3 to 5 years prior personnel management experience required
    • Experience working with appropriate government agencies for permitting and approval of complex projects required
    • Prior vendor management and superior negotiation skills
    • Advanced cross-functional collaboration and effective business partnering capabilities with a proven ability to influence
    • Strong facility-related (e.g. mechanical, electrical) assessment and troubleshooting skills
    • Experience providing efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers
    • Requires experience in supervising contractors and vendors.
    • Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.

$135,000 – $180,000 a year

Range dependent on experience.

Manager to Senior Manager salary range: $135k – $150k

Associate Director to Director salary range: $150k – $180k base salary (plus an annual bonus)
