CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
- The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
- As a CANDIDATE, you may be required to provide documentation (i.e. High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cyber Security; OR
- An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a course of study in a field related to computer or information science AND Two (2) years of professional experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or related field; OR
- A High School Diploma AND Four (4) years of professional experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or related field AND CompTIA Security+ Certification.
- Must be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ Certification within 180 days of hire date.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes and resolves hardware, software, and communications problems using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes. The employee analyzes and resolves technical problems with less than 5% customer follow-up for same issue.
- Coordinates with agency management for the acquisition of and contracting for hardware, software, and services (including maintenance).
- Coordinates and ensures the standard implementation of policies, procedures, and systems operations with local computer support personnel.
- Conducts research and development in distributed processing and information system technologies to support the planning and enhancement of distributed computer systems network including hardware software and communications resources.
- Interfaces with the agencies distributed systems support group to ensure the distributed processing plan is consistent with the agency objectives and is compatible with existing applications and security requirements.
- Establishes methods and procedures for use of the distributed computer systems including hardware, software, communications, and end user training.
- Set-up, troubleshoot, and test end user devices including desk phones and personal electronic devices, and assist network and telecom staff with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Assist with State Active-Duty IT support during periods of State Active Duty.
