What you will be doing
As the Manager of Analytics, you will lead the analytics function and provide strategic insights to support Albertson’s divisions and the Loyalty program. Collaborating with various stakeholders, your role will involve delivering impactful reporting, analysis, and recommendations. You will oversee the development of Power BI Dashboards, data queries, and presentations, ensuring they effectively communicate the value we provide to our loyal customers. Your responsibilities will also encompass managing a team, conducting statistical model building, project management, and ensuring data integrity. Ultimately, your goal will be to enhance customer satisfaction and demonstrate our appreciation for their loyalty through our digital deals, gas rewards, grocery rewards, Freshpass online sales, and delivery programs.
Data is at the center of all decisions made to improve these loyalty programs and that is where you come in. The analytics team specializes in deep-diving customer level behavior, aggregating results for summarized reporting, and sharing insights with stakeholders including senior leadership, internal teams, CPGs and external partners.
An ideal candidate will have strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills. Responsibilities include defining analytical requests and sourcing the proper data sets (new and existing) to report out the success of our Loyalty Programs. You will contribute right away and have a healthy mix of long-term projects, short-term projects, ad-hoc tasks, and quick-turn requests. You’ll need have good presentation skills with the ability to simplify and summarize work and are reliable when it comes to meeting deadlines. Finally, this position will assist the data governance team in the formation and execution of data governance framework, policy, standards and assists in the implementation of an enterprise data governance program.
This position is located in Pleasanton, California.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the requirements gathering, functional design and creation of financial models to support loyalty program acquisition, retention and growth initiatives.
- Lead and support the analytics function by delivering periodic reports on the effectiveness of the Loyalty program, conducting in-depth analysis, and extracting actionable recommendations for program enhancements.
- Address ad hoc data requests from divisional and business development teams, providing timely responses and investigating to meet their needs.
- Oversee the creation of impactful Power BI Dashboards, presenting ABS company and Loyalty program KPIs, and developing and maintaining presentation materials for effective communication of insights to the loyalty management team.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, gathering functional requirements, developing complex data queries, and generating comprehensive reports.
- Lead the development of statistical models to analyze customer behavior, segmentation, and predictive analytics.
- Manage projects related to analytics initiatives, including scoping, planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and ensuring deliverables are met.
- Coordinate efforts with business owners and IT teams to resolve data integrity gaps.
The salary range is $95,400 to $123,900 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

What we are searching for / qualifications and experience
- 6+ years’ work experience in a related field; loyalty, marketing, customer data, etc.
- Proficiency in SQL required.
- Experience with Data Visualization tools (Power BI or a similar tool) Required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Economics, Business, Math, or Statistics; MBA plus.
- Excellent project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and team interaction skills. Highly collaborative.
- Good presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with Management.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage competing priorities with tight deadlines.
- Strong detail orientation. High degree of initiative and results orientation.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, modeling, data manipulation tools, and relational databases.
- Experience with Python and/or R, a big plus.
- Experience with CPG, Marketing, Rewards Programs or Retail Category Management a plus.
