Position Summary
Flexible work arrangements, including remote/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine’s Working Forward initiative. As such, this position’s work location is designated as remote. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit’s business needs.
The primary purpose of the Geriatric Emergency Department Collaborative’s (GEDC) Communication Specialist will be to manage our social media presence and interactions across several platforms, and brands, as well as strategizing, planning, producing, and distributing content to generate and nurture leads for a variety of health care programs. They will implement GEDC’s social media strategy and research, plan, create, edit, organize, and post digital content that effectively tell our story. They will be responsible to learners and other stakeholders as they engage with us online and via other channels and also help expand into new platforms and systems to effectively shape public perceptions and develop a broad community of support. They will measure the effectiveness and impact of significant communications, programs, and initiatives as well as tailor communications for effective and deliverable quantifiable business value.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong literacy skills, reading and writing abilities, and a good sense of journalism is key.
