Job Description
EDC’s President’s Office has an opening for a full-time Executive Assistant. This exciting position will work very closely with the President and a dynamic office and will report to the Director of Engagement. This is DC-based and is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days in the EDC DC office per week.
The Executive Assistant will support the President & CEO on a variety of daily activities and priorities to support the smooth functioning of the President’s Office. The EA will provide high level administrative support, ensure prompt attention to activities, and help manage processes and tasks in line with EDC’s priorities and practices.
Essential Functions
The person in this position is expected to possess strong communication skills and to develop and maintain positive relationships with EDC colleagues and partners. The position would include:
* Coordinating all aspects of meetings (external and internal), travel, and other events involving the President and CEO, including scheduling, preparation of documentation, note taking, and follow up:
- Maintaining calendars for the President & CEO to optimize time and to facilitate the exchange of information.
- Preparing documents and attend to logistics for external meetings. As needed, attend meetings to document, as appropriate, critical commitments and follow through required. Ensure prompt follow-up on activities.
- Helping coordinate internal meetings, including agenda and materials preparation, and ensure that team members have the information and tools needed to be successful as they relate to working with the President & CEO. As needed, attend meetings to document actions and follow through.
- Determining the nature of external events and helping obtain the necessary background materials, in collaboration with the Director of Engagement.
* Monitoring daily and weekly tasks and deadlines, following up on delegated tasks and providing appropriate reminders to the President and other team members.
* Ensuring daily management of the President’s email inbox; reviewing, logging, and determining next steps on incoming mail.
* Managing communications, including responding to emails on the CEO’s behalf, drafts and edits correspondence and other internal and external communications as needed.
* Ensuring filing of documents, contacts and communications of the President’s Office in appropriate platforms (e.g. Box, Sharepoint, Zoho)
* Reviewing and processing payments for credit card transactions/invoices, prepares expense reports and invoices. Inputs proper coding into the financial system and serves as the liaison with accounting to track payments.
* Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
Other skills/experience:
- At least 5 years of demonstrated administrative experience, with at least 3 of those supporting the executive level.
- Superb organization and follow-through skills.
- Demonstrated success as a proficient multitasker with impeccable attention to detail.
- Takes initiative, demonstrates strong critical thinking skills, and operates with discretion.
- Able to work well independently; demonstrating good judgment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with organizing complex travel logistics for senior level professionals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills requiring the courtesy, tact, and diplomacy necessary to effectively build relationships and communicate with staff, callers, visitors and other stakeholders of all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, successfully prioritizing and executing many activities at once and responding flexibly to unforeseen circumstances.
- Proficient in IT programs and tools such as Microsoft Office suite (esp. Word, Excel & Power Point) as well as SharePoint, Teams, Zoom and other collaboration platforms.
- Experience with CRM and project management tools.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $54,000 to $72,000. Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity.
