The University of Denver Center for Immigration Policy and Research (DU CIPR) is a multidisciplinary center centered on migration. DU CIPR primarily focuses on Latin-American immigrant populations, the Rocky Mountain region, and associated transnational dynamics of migration. The center emerged from a collaborative process funded by a Knowledge Bridge award from the University of Denver.
Position Summary
The DU Center for Immigration Policy and Research seeks an energetic and experienced part-time administrative assistant to support the center and its programs.
Essential Functions
- The Administrative Assistant will work closely with the CIPR co-directors and affiliated faculty to ensure the operational and logistical needs of CIPR and its projects are met.
- Perform a variety of duties including assisting with events and experiential programs, coordinating meetings, arranging travel, and overseeing the needs of student research assistants.
- Lead and manage the center budget and records, working with data from a variety of sources and creating spreadsheets, supporting faculty research efforts, updating the website and mailing lists, maintaining communications to students and the general public and supporting the various projects of the Center.
- The ideal candidate will be task-oriented, detail-conscious and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Qualifications
- One year of relevant previous work experience.
- Experience managing budgets and making travel arrangements for others.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, database, data collection, and report generating experience, and the willingness to learn new systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an academic setting.
- Experience developing communications materials, including contact databases, websites, email announcements, and social media.
- Knowledge of Banner Financial System and Event Management Software (25Live).
- Knowledge of issues in migration/immigration. Spanish language skills beneficial, but not required
- Ability to commit at least one academic year to the position

Work Schedule
University operating hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This position will work 20 hours per week and specific schedule will be determined with supervisor.
In accordance with the University’s flexible work policy, this position is eligible to be considered for partial remote work. Further details regarding this plan will be determined with the hiring manager and are dependent on the division and team specific needs.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 5.
Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $20.00 – $23.00.
