Summary of Job Duties:

Within the Ohio Department of Health’s Office of Human Resources, Warehouse Management section, the primary primary focus of this position is to act for/relieve the warehouse administrator & formulate/implement warehouse management policy & procedures for the agency.

  • Responds to operational issues/needs of staff; leads/monitors task forces; plans, writes & implements operational goals.
  • Monitors daily warehouse activities related to warehouse inventory (e.g., emergency preparedness supplies , assets, and preventative maintenance of assets) management.
  • Writes Standards of Operations Receipt, Stage and Store (RSS) plans; writes and updates Job Action Sheets; writes and updates Warehouse Pharmacy Operating Procedures; writes & implements operational goals.
  • Serves as liaison between administrator & subordinates by interpreting policies/procedures, state & federal guidelines concerning warehouse & inventory management and work priorities.
  • Represents administrator at meetings & conferences; assumes responsibility & authority in administrator’s absence.
  • Interviews, hires, & counsels employees.
  • Manages office & auxiliary functions (e.g., maintenance, security, public information, personnel).
  • Conveys assignments & requests from ODH leadership to warehouse staff, monitors progress & follows up on timely completion of tasks/projects assigned.
  • Formulates & implements warehouse management policy (e.g., state and federal reporting, quality control, inventory, receipt/handling/distribution, salvage).
  • Analyzes & evaluates existing warehouse operations, policies & procedures & provides technical advice to aid administrators in decision making regarding warehouse initiatives.
  • Collects, evaluates, & organizes warehouse & inventory data & information in support of warehouse management policy development & process improvement.
  • Serves as liaison between warehouse and state enterprise (e.g., Ohio National Guard, Ohio Emergency Management Agency and non-state entities).
  • Briefs warehouse management on findings of research, suggests options for policy direction & makes recommendations which reflect input from multiple sources (e.g., ODH leadership, staff, other state agencies, local health departments, federal partners).
  • Initiates, prepares, delegates & oversees the preparation of correspondence & documents to convey the administrator’s policy & administrative decisions.

Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.

-Or 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration.

-Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122.
