Job Description

The Business Analyst provides critical financial guidance, business intelligence and influence to short- and long-term ecommerce strategy, contributing to added customer value, a strong brand and maximized profitable selling. You work towards aligned and cross functional goals, driving omni sales performance and customer centricity in all parts of your work. You will own pre-season and in-season sales planning and goal setting, and act as a key analyst in the team, driving insights and connecting customer, sales, web analytics and logistics data to inform strategic decision-making. You act as an informal leader on the team and a key partner to the E-Commerce Manager in both defining and achieving business goals and securing a best-in-class customer experience balanced with profit.

This position is based in New York, NY or in the Sales Market Support Office within our Customer Activation & Marketing function, and reports to the E-Commerce Manager.

Core Responsibilities includes but is not limited to:

Sales Planning & Controlling

  • Own pre-season goal setting and in-season reforecasting from a top-down perspective into sales equation and sales type; responsible for aligning on goals with key stakeholders
  • Leads ongoing holistic selling & business analysis including but not limited to below KPIs to understand drivers, and to make recommendations to topline commercial plan to drive selling and meet financial/customer goals. Full understanding of your sales situation through sales + customer behavior analysis as well as sequential trend analysis
    • Dem del net – total, and by sales type, by concept, by GG
    • Sales equation – Traffic, Conversion, AOV, Pieces Per Order, Average Price
    • Stock KPIs (PI%, ST %, R&D, etc.)
    • Customer Group contribution to offers/deals
    • Site behavior
    • Marketing Channel performance
  • Communicate the selling on weekly, monthly, quarterly basis to other team members and management (maybe redundant to bullet below?)
  • Evaluate selling daily and hourly vs plan and deliver insights to relevant stakeholders (CA + M team, logistics, regional merch, supply and demand)
  • Define and prioritize biggest opportunities and threats based on biggest impact on selling/customer impact, secure we are reaching our plans and drive actions towards the team
  • Follow up on the customer offer for the sales markets, apply learnings to coming actions

Driving E-Commerce Profit

  • Partner with E-Commerce manager to determine reduction strategy; own follow up to optimize profitable short- and long-term selling and customer growth
  • Evaluate and optimize commercial activations from a sales and profit perspective taking all costs into account, including logistics, reductions, and other costs
  • Evaluate, manage, and plan volumes in close dialogue with Logistics and Customer Service to secure the best customer offer in short- and long- term
  • Partner with Logistics to maintain cost-effective warehouse practices to maximize both sales and profit. Act as key point of contact across warehouse teams + inventory operations team to ensure understanding of operations as it relates to e-commerce sales plans and the customer experience, identify and troubleshoot risks
  • Partner with Supply + Demand team on goal setting to ensure selling and assortment strategies are aligned

Strategy Development

  • Proactively analyze business problems and develop insights into underlying causes, opportunities; partner with E-Commerce Manager + team to create and execute strategies and actions
  • Develop business cases, based on internal and external data, to inform strategic decision-making on new initiatives
  • Stay current on customer behavior in sales markets as well as competitive trends that could help indicate our performance and drive action

Drive analytics, insights, and ways of working in the team

  • Drive new ways of working within analytics in the e-commerce team connecting web, receipt, customer, and logistics data
  • Provide analytical support to the full team to develop its capabilities
  • Create templates and tools top optimize daily operations in the team and aide in merchandising reviews/strategy. Be part in developing tools and methods to continuously improve the controlling and merchandising function

Qualifications

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or Economics; MBA-preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of total experience
  • Strong strategic, financial, and analytical background
  • Highly proficient in Excel
  • Passion for e-commerce and driving sales, proven ability to achieve strong results
  • Ambitious team player with drive and willingness to take own initiatives and take decisions
  • Ability to synthesize information and draw conclusions
  • Self-paced with prioritization, organization, and time management competencies. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills, must be oriented toward problem resolution and improvements, as we well as having an interest developing tools and reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to coach and train all levels of employees on subject expert knowledge
  • Ability to work flexible hours outside of business hours to secure business needs
  • Required international and domestic travel up to 10% of the time

Compensation:

Hiring Range is $112,811 – $126,912 annually**
