Weyerhaeuser’s Aberdeen Timberlands operation based out of Aberdeen, Washington, has an opening for a Road Maintenance Operator. We are seeking individuals who desire to work safely in a market-focused logging environment, while maintaining a positive attitude and good work ethic.
This is a union position. The workforce is represented by the International Association of Machinists (IAM).
The pay scale starts at $30.435 with the ability to move to $32.435 after proven competency according to the contract labor agreement. Holidays, vacation, health and welfare, and 401k benefits are provided, as defined by the collective bargaining agreement. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check are required.
Key Functions:
- Ability to perform basic operation to independently load, haul, and spread rock, and ability to load associated equipment on to trailer or low bed for mobilization and other road maintenance activities as assigned
- Participate in road maintenance activities: culvert installation, ditching, patching, grading and minor road abandonment work, other ancillary functions as assigned
- Safely and competently operate equipment in various settings, while adhering to safety, environmental, production and quality standards
- Perform and assist on equipment inspections and fully support and participate in preventative maintenance procedures and routine maintenance repairs as they develop
- Assist as a ground person for manual labor as needed
- Capability to operate additional pieces of equipment (Track Excavator, Dozer, Grader, Rubber Tire Backhoe, Front-End Loader, Off-Highway Dump Truck, Vibratory Roller and Brusher)
- Maintain close working relationships and clear communications with other personnel
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have Class A CDL
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Competent, qualified, and able to work independently as well as a team
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to work safely in both an individual and team environment
- Willingness to flow to work and change job assignments as needed

Compensation : Your wages and benefits are set by the labor agreement between Weyerhaeuser and the union representing employees at this work site. The pay rate starts at $30.435 with the ability to move to $32.435 after proven competency according to the contract labor agreement.
