Construction Accounting Manager – Remote

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will support the construction accounting team. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, develop, document and maintain policies and procedures for Construction Accounting and business processes, prepare entries for construction activity, supervise and oversee Construction Accountant, review and prepare job schedules, assist with audit requests, and prepare and analyze monthly financial reporting. The Construction Accounting Manager will collaborate, problem solve, and engage with individuals at all levels while providing outstanding customer service to our internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead and have ownership of Construction Accounting processes
  • Assist with monthly financial statements and internal management reporting
  • Read various contracts related to customer and subcontractors and develop a general knowledge of the agreements
  • Working knowledge of percentage of completion job schedules
  • Review and process construction payables
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress billings
  • Month end revenue and cost accruals based on percentage of completion accounting
  • Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts and job cost activity
  • Process monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and track lien waivers
  • Other/Ad Hoc projects as requested
  • Timely and regular attendance

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 6+ years of accounting experience; construction experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and explain accounting policy to cross-functional users
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, accounting software experience preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change

COMPENSATION RANGE:

$95k-105k/year
