Scope and Purpose
Reporting to the AFC/RC Head of Compliance Risk:
– Execute the AFC related risk assessments for the NY Branch, including the annual BSA/AML and Sanctions Risk Assessments, in line with applicable methodologies and processes that support the Group Risk Framework and Risk Appetite Statement of the NY Branch;
– Create and distribute executive level risk driven analytics and metrics that provide cross Business unit visibility of the control environment and identify emerging risks from the BSA/AML and Sanctions Risk Assessment(s) of the NYS Branch based on data collected and aggregated
– Execute all BSA/AML/Sanctions related risk assessments for the NY Branch that relate to new/modified products and services when applicable;
– Maintain and update pertinent manuals, policies and procedures, including the ISP Branch Compliance BSA/AML and Sanctions Risk Assessment Methodologies;
– Work collaboratively with functional departments to ensure efficient data collection and aggregation, as well as, data quality to drive accurate evaluations of quantitative data relevant to the risk assessment;
– Liaise with stakeholders within Compliance Department and across Business units, as applicable, to maintain inventory of BSA/AML and Sanctions risks and controls, set in place at the NY Branch;
– Proactively maintain open communication channels for discussion of BSA/AML and Sanctions related risks and controls with Business units and other Department as part of the risk assessment process, in order to effectively identify risk coverage gaps and drive necessary process enhancements (such as facilitating meetings; documenting and tracking all completed follow up to ensure discussions and next steps are clear;
– Maintain awareness of significant changes at the Branch with impact to the Business units, both internally and externally (e.g., changes to products/services applicable regulations), and ensure appropriate actions to mitigate risk (identification of enhanced/new controls) are identified and escalated as necessary;
– Monitor and track status of all action plans resulting from BSA/AML and Sanctions related risk assessment(s), and proactively follow-up and confirm progress completed, in order to drive execution and influence action plan progress in line with communicated timelines.
The salary range for this job offer would be $ 90,000 – $ 125,000
Required Experience
– 5+ years of experience in risk identification, aggregation, analysis, assessment, ranking, and/or data governance;
– Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required; specialization in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or other quantitatively-rigorous discipline, preferred;
– Advanced Degree in the above-referenced disciplines, a plus;
– Professional certification preferred (CAMS, CFCS, ACSS, etc.)
Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
– Working knowledge of and ability to keep abreast with changes in federal, state and local BSA/AML and Sanctions (OFAC) related laws and market best practices;
– Subject Matter Expert (SME) around collection, organization and evaluation of quantitative data, as part of experience in conducting BSA/AML and/or Sanctions (OFAC) risk assessment processes;
– Knowledge of financing and banking products and services, as well as, related processes, procedures and operations associated with BSA/AML and Sanctions risks;
– Working knowledge of relevant systems to support BSA/AML and Sanctions (OFAC) compliance
