Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Pay: $50,000 – $55,000 Annually

Position Summary: This position is in the Information Technology Unit. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in information technology with a clear understanding of the challenges of information security. Key information security management skills include analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and fix security risks. To build understanding and awareness of security issues throughout the organization. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills. Collaborate with other IT professionals and develop security solutions.

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and four years of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems and three years of experience as described above; or a master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems and two years experience as described above; or a doctorate from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems and one year of experience as described above; or five years of experience as described above and either (1) completion of a 1440 classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry), or (2) 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems.
Experience as described above can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one year of the required experience.

The Work You Will Do: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assists the Information Security Manager in developing, implementing, and overseeing the Agency’s Information Systems Security Program including plans, requirements, and countermeasures consistent with Florida Statutes and F.A.C. 60GG-2.
  • Assists the Information Security Manager with developing, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting an information technology (IT) security framework to protect information resources from items such as inappropriate alteration, physical destruction, and unauthorized access.
  • Assists the Information Security Manager in creating and implementing procedures for responding to IT security incidents.
  • Assists the Information Security Manager in evaluating and implementing security-related technologies and techniques and assists with their installation, configuration, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
  • Assists the Information Security Manager with developing and implementing a comprehensive IT disaster recovery and business resumption plan and tests this plan on a periodic basis.
  • Assists the Information Security Manager in developing and implementing a comprehensive Security Awareness program for Agency staff as required by F.A.C. 60GG-2.
  • Assists the Information Security Manager in conducting Security Risk Assessments annually and provides project management for periodic Security Risk Assessments conducted by independent security auditing practitioners.
  • The incumbent performs change control for add/delete/modification of network user accounts including network file access privileges, for access to the Attorney General’s Secure File Transfer (AGSFT), and assists user(s) as needed with using the program.
  • The incumbent performs and monitors signature and software updates of anti-virus and antispam products.
  • The incumbent provides change control for email gateway security products such as content filter rules and antispam rule maintenance, in coordination with the Email Administrator, Proxy Administrator, and web access rules.
  • The incumbent implements, troubleshoots, and supports VeraCrypt and other encryption systems on all agency laptops, removable drives, and mobile devices, etc.
  • The incumbent performs ongoing vulnerability scans, analysis, and remediation of network devices.
  • The incumbent monitors threat advisory reports from information security agencies and services and posts Security Guidance documents to inform agency staff.
  • The incumbent provides support for multi-factor authentication services, such as Imprivata OneSign, Azure MFA, etc.
