Description
Being the Grant Accounting Manager, you will oversee and direct the work of the Post Award staff to ensure compliant financial management of the non-profit organization. The Manager is responsible for timely financial reporting in accordance with US generally accepted accounting principles as well as state and federal guidelines related to federally funded grants. This position also coordinates the information needed for the Single Audit requirement and the SEFA report. This position will be responsible for the maintenance of the awarded grants in the general ledger. The position is a fast-paced role that will require excellent communication and time management skills.

- Starting Salary: $80,000

Qualifications
The Requirements We are Seeking:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited educational institution.
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in grants administration and billing (post award).
- Three years’ experience leading a team.
- Experience in the use of SAP Concur and Abila (Sage) MIP accounting system is preferred.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current financial and accounting applications and demonstrated experience in their successful application within a nonprofit setting, preferred.
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency within in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- You have a valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off-site locations utilizing personal transportation.
What you Deliver in this role:
- You will directly supervise Grant Accountant (s); assign responsibilities and effectively manage team performance. Provide training and coaching as appropriate.
- You will ensure the accurate and timely grant billings and monitor grant expenses by line item as stipulated by individual grant awards.
- You will collaborate with Accounts Payable and Payroll to ensure the proper coding of personnel and operating expenses with regards to the proper allocation of grant funding.
- You will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of SEFA schedule as part of month-end closings and provide support during the annual financial audit as needed.
- You will develop and document effective grant management processes in conjunction with accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- You will provide dedicated support on Single Grant Audits as part of the annual financial audit process. Set up and maintain awarded grants in the Chart of Accounts.
- You will prepare journal entry for review and approval.
- You will collaborate with key stakeholders in the preparation of grant budgets/budget revisions and ensure that approved grant budgets are timely input into the accounting system.
- You will maintain allocation schedules on a monthly basis.
- You will provide regular grant financial reporting to management for performance measurement and decision support.
- You will collaborate with internal stakeholders in financial transaction research, analysis, and reporting to support decision making and to support company objectives.
- You will participate in the departmental policy development and review, as well as testing of post award administration processes and procedures.
- You will participate in grant-related meetings; develop and maintain positive professional relationships with funders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
