Located at Seattle Center in the heart of Seattle’s Uptown Neighborhood, Climate Pledge Arena offers a truly unique and intimate experience for the newest NHL franchise, the Seattle Kraken, WNBA’s Seattle Storm, concerts, and other entertainment events, while preserving the historic nature of Seattle Center and its surroundings. This project is a completely new arena beneath its existing historic-landmark roof. Climate Pledge Arena opened October 22, 2021.
Position Summary:
The Director of Arena Revenue is responsible for managing Climate Pledge Arena revenue functions including Climate Pledge Arena tour sales, Arena shows and events – (non-Kraken hockey), Moet & Chandon Imperial Lounge pre-event meal sales, distressed suite inventory for Arena & shows – (non-Kraken hockey), Hospitality oversight in conjunction with Premium Sales & Service. The ideal candidate will be an effective sales leader with sales experience, hands-on coach, a motivating leader, and advocate for group sales throughout the Arena organization, and a strong team player than will help support the organization’s overall revenue goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Proactively drive venue revenue through the group ticket sales of arena tours and family shows
- Cross-sell and upsell clients into arena suites and pre-show hospitality products
- Collaborate with Booking Team and Ticket Operations to devise a well thought out family show group sales inventory strategy
- Develop group sales goals, incentives, and campaigns for concerts and arena shows.
- Manage Group Account Executives’ accountability for call volume, appointment setting, and ticket sales.
- Develop goals, strategies, and manage performance for top group categories for Arena shows and non-sporting events.
- Work with Premium Sales and service to develop a specific time-based strategy (60 days from show) for selling distressed suite inventory plan for family shows and non-traditional events – e.g. Jurassic World, Stars on Ice, Harlem Globetrotters, etc.
- Assist in cross-training other departments on group sales tactics, initiatives, and effectively championing group sales initiatives throughout the Arena.
- Manage annual group sales renewal campaign and process.
- Attend community events for the purpose of maximizing sales opportunities.
- Cross-sell and upsell clients into arena suites and pre-show hospitality products.
- Prospect new group and suite leads in the Seattle market to solicit new leads.
- Facilitate venue walkthroughs with potential/current clients to highlight group and hospitality experiences.
- Provide exceptional customer service ensuring clients’ requests and expectations are met.
- Administer updates and communication regarding sales process, client retention and changes with new and current clients.
- Manage inbound inquiries promptly and professionally.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of sales experience, including demonstrated sales leadership.
- Previous experience selling group tickets and venue hospitality products
- Proven success in meeting/exceeding goals, holding self and others accountable for expected results, understanding customer needs, presenting solutions, and identifying improvements.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a management capacity required.
- Demonstrated experience in managing sales funnel across multiple entertainment/sports properties with a sense of urgency, sometimes under a high level of pressure.
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Familiarity and proficiency with Ticketmaster systems experience with CRM (Salesforce).
- High proficiency in ticket sales techniques, and strong ability to teach and coach others.
- Strong knowledge and ability to run detailed reports.
- Detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple people and projects.
- Strong work ethic and high personal accountability.
- Strong written and verbal communications & outstanding customer service skills.
- Prior sales experience in major league sports and/or entertainment.
Working Conditions:
- Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required.
- Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building.
Compensation:
- In accordance with the Washington State Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the expected base pay range for this position is $110,000-$140,000 annually. Actual base pay will depend on employee’s experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
