We are looking for an outstanding Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Senior Manager to join and lead our Podcast FP&A team. You will run core FP&A responsibilities for this group and be a key business partner as Spotify continues to evolve the podcasting ecosystem. The team is tasked to support the Podcast Vertical on all things FP&A including forecasting, reporting, performance analysis, investment decisioning and strategic planning.
You will work closely with global, cross-functional teams to take on critically important and highly-visible work ranging from deal modeling and analysis for new creators to helping drive the evolution of monetization of podcasts on and off the Spotify platform. In short, you will help craft the process in which leaders and decision-makers across Spotify understand and evaluate our podcast business’s financial health and trajectory.
To deliver you will lead a small team, work out of our New York offices, and be reporting to the Head of Ads & Podcast FP&A.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain detailed and dynamic financial models to support quarterly forecasts, budgeting and long range planning across the P&L and cashflow relating to the podcast vertical
- Own the global consolidation of podcast programming expense and cash payments
- Prepare guidance and financial update materials for podcast leads and corporate FP&A team including variance from forecast and identification of risks and opportunities
- Prepare scenario analysis to facilitate discussion when faced with economic trade-offs
- Work with senior leadership within the podcast organization to translate pivotal initiatives into a multi-year roadmap with complete cost and capital requirements
- Maintaining schedule of estimated future contractual commitments for accurate disclosure in financial documents and proper capital planning
- Partnering with accounting to ensure new initiative’s forecasted financial profiles appropriate reflect accounting standards
- Providing recommendations on how to adjust future spending to track towards investment goals across content categories and geographies
- Working with developers and vendor partners to craft and improve systems to ensure timely, accurate and complete information sharing
Who You Are
- Experienced people manager and leader
- Able to influence senior stakeholdersand business partners
- 8+ years of experience in a finance setting/FP&A preferably in investment banking or FP&A at a technology or media company
- Ideal candidates will have a consistent track record of outstanding financial and strategic analysis and delivering meaningful recommendations based on this analysis.
- Display initiative in anticipating and exceeding the business demands of business managers with a sharp eye for detail.
- Spotify is fast-growing with a flat organizational structure, which means that managers are often asked to both manage and individual contribute. Candidates must be motivated, focused, flexible, and be able to work autonomously.
- Extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative financial analysis
- Proficiency working with automated reporting tools (e.g NetSuite/ Adaptive, Workday financials, etc.)
- Outstanding proficiency with Excel; sophisticated financial modeling
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- This is a hybrid role based in our New York City office (2 to 3 days a week required)

The United States base range for this position is $128,668-$183,812, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
