Position Description:
Under the direction of the Director and in collaboration with Department Chairs and the Administrative staff, the Senior Testing Coordinator plans for and manages all testing for PAE students. The Coordinator leads a team of test administrators and is responsible for developing and implementing school-wide student testing systems and processes. Additionally, the Senior Testing Coordinator creates and manages a system for the test administrator team to assess results and make student course level recommendations. The Coordinator collaborates with a cross-departmental team of school leaders to ensure systems are efficient, accurate, and responsive to the needs of the school.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains master testing schedules and calendars
  • Coordinates with administrators, administrative staff and department chairs to develop streamlined testing systems and schedules
  • Manages all testing at PAE including CASAS and HiSET test schedules (in collaboration with Chief HiSET Examiner)
  • Oversees testing administrators
  • Ensure successful and timely completion of student intake forms and data entry into Mainestars
  • Makes level recommendations in collaboration with testing administrators for student class placement and communicates results to students and staff
  • Works with Department Chairs to assure that prospective students are placed in appropriate classes
  • Works with office staff to develop a plan for initial contact with students for pre-testing
  • Collaborates with administrative staff to manage the waitlist
  • Identifies students with incomplete intakes
  • Works with school staff to coordinate orientation and student advising about PAE pathways after testing
  • Organizes and oversees end of year CASAS post-testing
  • Proctors some CASAS testing as well as delegates to testing administrators
  • Oversees and analyzes data collection to understand numbers of students leaving and their reasons for doing so (e.g., schedule incompatibility, employment, etc.) to inform class scheduling
  • Administers or oversees other testing as needed
  • Performs related work as needed

Preferred:

  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Experience working with multicultural communities
  • Familiarity with PAE and its programming preferred
  • Ability to speak multiple languages
  • Previous experience in education, workforce, or community development

Location and Work schedule:

  • PAE offers both in person and remote classes. In person classes take place at 14 Locust St, Portland, ME.
  • Class schedules vary – morning, afternoon and evening session available
