Job Responsibilities
As a Paralegal, provides technical and legal support services for the attorneys within the Office of Disciplinary Counsel to include drafting letters, drafting form documents for review by counsel, creating calendar due dates and assisting counsel in maintaining contact with Respondents, witnesses and attorneys associated with cases.
As directed, contacts witnesses, schedules and coordinates disciplinary hearings, making initial interviews of witnesses, organization of trial exhibits, copying and organizing exhibits, and closing cases according to existing policies and procedures. Reviews and corrects documents, serves legal documents externally and internally, updates calendars and prepares case status reports. Assists attorneys in managing case flow. Utilizes Adobe and other tools to remove private personal information (PPI) as required. Provides quality customer service.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and experience in providing administrative support for an attorney(s) or a legal office.
Position is located in an office setting with hours of sitting. Some communication and interaction with internal and external customers required. Ability to perform administrative tasks (i.e. copying, filing) in a fast paced setting. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
A paralegal degree and/or certificate.
