Certain’s IT and Cloud Operations team is hiring a Jr. IT Operations Engineer. We run on AWS and Azure and we use Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, MS SQL, mySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Datadog, Salt, Terraform, Node.js, Hadoop, and logstach, kibana, among others. Responsibilities
- Work as a member of a global SaaS operations team on 24/7 compute environments.
- Perform management, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting for Office, Slack, laptops, etc.
- Ensure that services to end-users are highly available, reliable, and performant through world-class monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting.
- Support and improve the corporate IT services used by Certain’s employees.
- Analyze system metrics and logs to ensure maximum uptime and delivery.
- Build and maintain configuration and infrastructure management, service deployment frameworks, and utility software.
- Projects to improve efficiency and processes for corporate policies. We encourage initiatives!
- Documentation of new processes.
- Vendor relations and management.
- Come up with new and innovative solutions even if it means shaking things up!
- Security audits. Participation in PCI and ISO compliance reviews.
- Work with all departments to provide their technical needs.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 1+ years with helpdesk experience.
- Experience troubleshooting Mac and Windows
- Experience with SharePoint and other o365 products
- Familiarity with Single-Sign-On, Atlassian products
- 2-3+ years working in a production operations role in support of large scale Linux infrastructure
- 2-3+ years of experience in build tooling (apps, scripts, monitoring, processes, documents)
- Experience operating a software as a service (SaaS0
- Experience running infrastructure operations in a public cloud-we use Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
- Solid Linux experience-we use centOS among others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
