Reporting to the Vice Provost of Faculty Affairs within the Office of the Provost, the current mission of the Office of Teaching and Learning is to support faculty in the advancement of transformative, inclusive, and impactful teaching and learning across all disciplines and modalities to actualize DU’s educational promise to all students. The OTL staff supports faculty by advancing skills in course design, inclusive teaching, effective university-level pedagogy, and academic assessment. We seek a highly organized, self-motivated, tech-savvy, solution-oriented, and customer-focused individual to serve as a Faculty Developer of Integrative and Experiential Learning.
Position Summary
The Faculty Developer of Integrative and Experiential Learning reports to the Director of the Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL) and works collaboratively with OTL staff members to develop and lead face-to-face, online, and hybrid faculty development courses. They will create faculty development programming that facilitates the integration of High Impact Practices (HIPs; as defined by AAC&U), integrative learning, and experiential learning programs and initiatives. Additionally, this role requires faculty and departmental consultations and the development of on-demand programs. This is a full-time staff position.
Essential Functions
- In collaboration with OTL director and campus constituents, assist in the design and lead the execution of an educational campaign for the adoption of our new ePortfolio platform, Digication.
- Create, implement, and manage a curriculum of teaching-related professional development opportunities for integrative learning strategies, experiential learning, and the successful implementation of classroom-level HIPs including but not limited to: workshops, short courses, institutes, and trainings.
- Conduct confidential and problem-solving consultations with faculty members and academic departments about teaching and learning issues, particularly as related to HIPs, Integrative Learning, and integrating the use of ePortfolios into courses or curriculum, across modalities.
- Develop department/program focused professional development to support effective adoption of ePorfolios and implementation of HIPs at the curricular level.
- Represent the OTL and provide expertise to campus-wide initiatives including the “4D student experience” and General Education, and participate in campus-wide committees that intersect with the role
- Provide pedagogical support and basic troubleshooting for the ePortfolio platform, field basic questions related to the learning management system, and other instructional technologies supported by the Office of Teaching and Learning.
- Collaborate with OTL staff to support office initiatives, events, and programming as needed.
- Assist in collecting and documenting internal assessment data.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of classroom-based High Impact Practices as defined by AAC&U.
- Extensive knowledge of integrative learning and the use of ePortfolios as a pedagogical practice.
- Conversant in experiential education
- Conversant in best practice in online/hybrid pedagogy.
- Commitment to DEIJA principles and an inclusive teaching and working environment.
- Strong research skills including acquiring and vetting literature related to educational research and practice.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Acute attention to detail.

Required Qualifications
- Masters degree
Preferred Qualifications
- 4 or more years experience working in a higher education institution.
- Faculty development experience in a center for teaching and learning.
- Experience teaching at the university level.
Working Environment
1. Standard office environment.
2. Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
3. Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities
1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $65,000-$72,000
