About The Role:
Bowery Farming is seeking an Operational Excellence Supervisor who will oversee aspects of our daily growing operations in our indoor farms. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for deploying continuous improvement projects & best practices within the farms, serving as a critical member of the farm’s leadership team and owning Bowery’s operational excellence training program at the hourly level. You will operate in a multidisciplinary environment with engineers, computer scientists, agricultural scientists, retail and other functions, and your work will meaningfully impact the evolution of the indoor agriculture industry.
This position will work M-F, 8:00AM – 5:00PM, but may be required to flex hours and schedule as needed.
What You’ll Do:
- Deploy Continuous Improvement Projects & Best Practices within the Farm:
- Support the operations team across functions within the farm, ensuring best practices are codified and implemented across stations, and serve as the main contact for farm related projects.
- Partner with the regional OPX team to improve yields, execute continuous improvement work and identify opportunities for greater efficiency within the operation.
- Serve as a critical member of the Farm Integrated Leadership Team (FILT)
- Owns specific Farm performance reporting; partners cross-functionally to ensure consistent data collection and identify issues/develop plans to close gaps to goals
- Oversees all Shipping & Receiving) S&R operations, to include but not limited to: labor, SOP’s, employee time management; includes ordering supplies for the farm, kitchen, sanitation
- Lead new product scheduling and packaging reporting partnering closely with Planning and Commercial teams to successfully launch new skus
- Establish standards across the farm and drive the operational excellence training program
- Manage new farmer orientation and onboarding
- Own communication to FILT team relative to process changes or new procedures/equipment and support appropriate training
- Maintain operational SOPs in collaboration with the regional OpX team
- Maintain active training materials in collaboration with the regional OpX team
Who You Are:
- You have relevant years of experience in a leadership role in a related field
- You possess years of experience in manufacturing operations or engineering role with demonstrated ability to lead change
- You have a strong knowledge of warehouse management systems
- You understand Lean & Six Sigma process improvement techniques
- You have experience managing an OSHA compliance program
- You understand how to drive continuous improvement initiatives & culture
- You possess excellent analytical, problem solving, and superior management skills
- You are capable of strong mentoring and coaching to a team with diverse levels of expertise
- You have the ability to direct, empower and support indirect reports and peers
- You demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- You are detail & process orientatedYou have experience with farming and growing operations, and food safety and production is a plus

The salary for this role will be either $60,000 or $80,000, depending on the level you’re assessed at.
