What You’ll Do:
Ohio Department of Public Safety – Director’s Office/Fiscal (Distribution & Inventory Services)
Report In Location: 1583 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43209
Work Hours: 7:00 a.m – 3:30 p.m
Perform property & accountability functions for existing & newly acquired ODPS property, (e.g., identify assets, generate/affix DPS barcode labels on assets, perform inventory verification of assets which may require some overnight travel, enter inventory information into the inventory tracking system); Operate personal computer; Work with inventory applications (e.g. BIMS, MS excel, WTFS, OAKS, etc.); Verify processes & assist with transport of items to DAS State Surplus for salvage of assets deemed not damaged, obsolete, or unserviceable by ODPS; Continual verification, clarification & updating of various inventory sites (e.g. ODPS Administration, OSHP Posts & District Headquarters, BMV, ATPS, EMA, EMS, OCJS, Columbus Shipley Building, Alum Creek Facility, etc. throughout the state of Ohio); Create & maintain existing ODPS Asset Management files and records; Perform various inventory project assignments; Communicate via telephone, fax, email or regular mail to various entities in ODPS pertaining to inventory verification; Enter inventory information; Perform comparative analysis, review & correction of asset reports.
Generate inventory management reports supporting various inventory management functions; Receive & assess surplus items for retention/reissue or salvage; Maintain an inventory of DPS surplus items (e.g. furniture, file cabinets, etc.) & assist in the preparation & delivery of such items; Operate material handling equipment (forklift, manual & electric pallet jacks, dock levelers, etc.); Perform other related duties as required such as transport items to & from the Shipley building as well as other sites; Assist in the loading & unloading of vehicles; Answer telephones; Maintain ACF storage vault.
Keep office & work areas clean & organized; Assist with DPS Record Center inventory & distribution as needed; Assist the shipping section in the process of packaging, inventory & shipping of various materials, forms & other items as needed to BMV sites, OSHP sites, police departments & various other entities; Assist with shipping inventory verification & restocking when needed.
