Position Summary

West Chester University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Public Safety invites applications for the position of Parking Garage Attendant (Management Technician). This is a full time (9 month) salaried staff position. We are a community of educators dedicated to developing graduates who succeed personally and professionally and contribute to the common good.
Under the supervision of the Parking Services Manager, the Parking Garage Attendant will be responsible for monitoring the daily operations of all campus parking garages.
Responsibilities include:
- Keep all University parking garages clean and orderly
- Ensure that all signage is correctly posted and visible and that line painting is completed when needed
- Mitigate hazards in all parking garages to ensure the safety of those using the garages
- Respond to request for service involving malfunctions of the card readers, ticket readers or pay stations in the parking garages tour of duty
- Ensure that all parking garage equipment (gates, card readers, ticket machines and pay stations as well as lighting, emergency phones and CCTV cameras) are all functioning properly
- Place work orders for repairs and general maintenance for parking garages
- Coordinate with Electronic Security Services for repairs required by third party vendors
- Assist with campus events requiring use of the University’s parking garages
- Keep a collection of data on lot usage
Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information OR
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training (An Associate’s Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates in the performance of work
- Previous experience in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work under varying weather conditions
- Experience in the parking, security or law enforcement fields
- Experience working in a campus community or similar environment such as parking or crowd control
- Knowledge and experience in customer service
