Description
Mission: The mission of Catholic Charities is to provide for the needs of our community through selfless service under the sign of love.
Summary: Assists in coordinating court monitor visits of incapacitated individuals under a legal guardianship in Bexar County and case management assistance to eligible clients seeking guardianship and or alternatives to guardianship. Court monitor coordinator responsibilities are a part of the Bexar County contract and include weekly and monthly goals for visits to clients under legal guardianship.
Position Responsibilities:
- *Must ensure the completion of all required professional development assignments in a timely manner for their direct reports
- *Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner
- *Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- *This position is responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of all staff under their supervision and will make recommendations for termination of employees.
- *Assign court monitors weekly and monthly case numbers based on targeted outputs and outcomes
- *Assist senior director on ideas for process improvement on tracking data and outcomes
- *Coordinate with Bexar County contract analyst on preparing requested spreadsheets, reports, and data
- Schedules and coordinates court monitor visits on behalf of court monitors when needed.
- Assist in preparing Court Orders for Court Monitors.
- Draft Letters to Guardian regarding monitoring visits.
- Contract necessary parties to assist in court monitor reports
- Legal research as needed.
- Coordinate with probate court 1 and 2 on necessary legal guardian reports and documents needed for staff.
- Meet with clients as necessary
- Answers client calls and inquiries as needed for Guardianship.
- Assist Volunteer Coordinator as needed with materials for Volunteers/Nursing Students.
- Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in social service or prelaw related field preferred
- Bilingual in English/ Spanish preferred
Experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience in social work with at least one year of experience in pre-law and/or legal experience.
License and Credentials
- Reliable transpiration
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Have valid vehicle liability insurance
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in social work including direct services to mentally and physically challenge people, pre-law, and legal experience;
- Extensive working knowledge of people with physical and mental challenges, and statues pertaining to their safety;
- Experience with computer software and Microsoft Outlook (i.e., Zoom software preferred);
- A solid grasp of Adult Protective Services and Family Protective Services;
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
- Must have good written and verbal skills;
- Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Travel Requirements: Travel requirements for the position includes 50 % local and 0% overnight
