Position Summary
The Business Operations Specialist, Expert, will be responsible for supporting T&D Business Applications financial responsibilities and operational technology. Primary responsibilities include Investment Planning, Monthly actuals refresh and forecasting (program monitoring and reporting), SOX compliance, accrual management, all order management, data analysis, and PowerBI dashboard support. The individual will communicate with project/program leads and Business Finance to update SAP forecasts and respond to Business Finance and Investment Planning requests. Secondary responsibilities include light PM technology support, requirement gathering, user acceptance testing and light technology development. The incumbent will support the safe, reliable, compliant, and event free operation of the grid via the tools we develop and maintain.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
- Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $109,000.00
- Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $175,000.00
Qualifications
Minimum:
- BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems, etc. or equivalent work experience
- 8 years of relative working experience

- Broad expertise in what-if modeling analysis, concepts, methods and techniques and analysis of how different factors affect business outcomes

Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly financial reporting and forecasting
- Work with the finance team to develop future year budgets and financial targets
- Monitors SOX compliance for transmission & distribution grid technology projects
- Management of specific orders through lifecycle. Create orders and adhere to settlement rules. Advance orders through lifecycle from creation through close
- Program Monitoring – will provide monthly reports to Leadership
- Maintains effective relationships with Business Applications, IT, Asset Management, and Business Finance
- Work with and leverage relationships with Directors and Managers across functions / PG&E
- Submitting give-back/additional funds requests
- Work with project leads to create project authorizations (i.e., Job estimates) as appropriate
- Track actual costs throughout the year (on a monthly basis) and compare these costs to budgeted/authorized amounts
- Work with project/program leads and Business Finance to update SAP forecasts as appropriate
- Develops innovative data solutions to address complex business issues. Presents findings and proposed recommendations to leaders
- Quality Assurance & Business Process Improvement
- Metrics and Reporting: Develop and tracks business metrics. Develop and maintains standard, custom and ad-hoc reports
- Research best practices; develops internal and external benchmarks in support of business decisions
- Perform feasibility analysis, develop project scope, and provide recommendations for alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization
- Prepare and deliver business users’ system needs to IT and represent user needs in the development of functional specifications
- Develop and manage trainings to enhance knowledge and job skills for customers
- Assist Management supporting key department initiatives such as system development, training and focused campaigns/initiatives including process improvements
- Research and data analysis; compile and prepare weekly reports for leadership
- Handle moderately complex user issues that arise with supported systems and tools
- Address most calls independently, escalate the more complex problems to senior peers
- Analyze and document moderate complexity business processes and information needs
- Coordinate requirements and deliverables with IT
- Contribute to business case development
- Participate and coordinate in UATs and perform quality reviews of test results
- May perform various additional activities, such as user-based application testing, scope presentations, user support, etc.
- May be mentored by more Senior team members
- Lead teams to analyze and propose solutions
