Department Overview
The team of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E’s electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.
Position Summary
Manages aspects of T&S Substation capital portfolio funding, program implementation and operations. Ensures program is meeting metrics and objectives.
This position requires full understanding of Program Management, good communication skills to champion and promote the Substation Program needs, business understanding and analytical skills to identify trends. Collaborative skills are essential for this position to be able to work with cross functional teams and forge partnerships with key substation stakeholders.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
- This position is hybrid, working from your remote office, and your assigned location based on business need. Headquarter location is flexible within the East Bay/Sacramento region.
Although, we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Annual Minimum: $118,000.00
Annual Maximum: $188,000.00
Job Responsibilities
- Works independently with guidance on only the most complex issues
- Thinks strategically about risk and mitigation plans and provides recommendations to the management team
- Works with the strategy and implementation teams to develop the Substation short and long term T&D Capital budget and review in-progress work
- Act as liaison with Investment Planning and the Integrated Grid Planning (IGP) teams to document risk and consequence of not doing the work and justify the T&D Substation Capital portfolio
- Works with Directors and Managers across functions to influence decisions
- Regularly monitors expenditures and analyze trends to identify drivers
- work with execution partners to monitor annual workplan execution and understand execution risks
- Prepares change requests for budget and or/additional funding during the year
- Represents the program as a subject matter expert (SME) and stakeholder on process improvements teams and business development plans
- Communicates complex ideas to diverse audiences using a variety of media
- Performs analysis on complex data models requiring customized reports and data and presents recommendations.
- Unit cost analysis on annual basis
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor degree in business, engineering, finance or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent
Desired:
- PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
- Analytical thinking for translating data into informative reports and visuals
- Proficiency with Power BI
- Ability to lead, manage and analyze business processes and recommend improvements to gain efficiency and effectiveness
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (excel, power point)
