Under minimal supervision: Cleans & sanitizes equipment, applies good housekeeping practices, perform wine movements, top barrels, adds chemicals to wine, measures and calculate workplace data, and efficiently operates equipment

Compensation:

$25.96 – $30.48

What You’ll Do:

  • Performs high-level operation and troubleshooting of cellar equipment, including Centrifuges, crossflows, JWI, PacPres, Velo’s, Dynamos, Suprapak, and Millipore, with minimal supervision.
  • Identifies and resolves problems with first and last load wine spirits processing, completes BOLs, and addresses issues with paperwork, scaling, and shipping software.
  • Performs tank washing line and equipment sanitation, including confined space entry, while abiding by company guidelines to ensure safety.
  • Engages in general wine production functions like red and white juice racking, supporting fermentation process, additions, sanitation, etc.
  • Reads work orders, determines the correct quantity and process to add ingredients to tank, verifies product information, and troubleshoots flow issues.
  • Understands the “why” behind special instructions and how it affects product movement, and addresses concerns with unusual requests.
  • Calculates, validates, and performs stops during the production process.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency for safety, quality, and productivity, and pulls samples for equipment center.
  • Works on various truck stations for both shipping and receiving as per the work orders and truck schedule.
  • Trains and mentors Cellar Tech I & Cellar Tech II on all cellar equipment and SOPs, while functioning as a lead operator for winery production operations.
  • Works cross-functionally with the winemaking, maintenance, bottling, cellar, EH&S, and quality departments to ensure production schedules are developed and adhered to.
  • Identifies and communicates to leadership if product is ready to be processed and participates in the development and implementation of documents and programs such as JSA’s, work instructions, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance and is responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental, and safety regulatory considerations.

What you will need

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 2 years of wine production experience.
  • Required to be 18 years of age or older
  • Required to be physically capable of executing any job tasks within the bottling room or cellar operations.
  • Must be able to repetitively lift and uncase glass cases onto a conveyer belt
  • Required to work any assigned shift (day, swing, graveyard, 5×8, 4×10); required to work weekends and overtime when necessary.
  • Required to wear a respirator when necessary.
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Required to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Required to comply with company GMP policies.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
